MLMM: Red Shoes

I was so in love with her. She wore dark red shoes and matching lipstick that was mmm amazingly sexy.

Her laugh made me blush, she was so incredibly beautiful. I knew right then and there that she was the one I had always wanted and would always want for the rest of my life.  I knew she felt the same way about me.

My heart swelled with love for her. I wanted to marry her, have lots of kids, a huge house, a dog, and an SUV.

Then I awoke.  The heat was overbearing through the plastic curtains covering my window.  I was a 40-year-old single man who owned just a bicycle for transportation.  Imprisoned in small-town America and working two jobs, I had no romantic prospects. Despair and sleep were my only friends.

  1. The dream was beautiful, at least. Still, at only 40, he still has plenty of time in which to turn his life round and, perhaps, find a woman who could make him as happy as the one in his dream.
