Bernie broke opened the door to an old woman knitting in a rocking chair. Putting his finger over his lips “shhh”, he headed towards the window and peeked out, gun up.

A firm hand grabbed his wrist in a vice-like grip. “No.” The voice was deep. His body was swept back like a ragdoll.

Looking up, he no longer saw an old woman. Its red eyes seethed with hatred. The demon ripped off an arm, and Bernie’s last thought was how funny it was to see his own dismembered arm flopping down on top of his legs.
